Professor Maritz brings a research-led, Africa-centred vision for strengthening the nursing and health sciences workforce through inclusive, ethically grounded and future-oriented scholarship. Her contribution integrates academic leadership with a strong commitment to clinically relevant practice, ensuring that research, supervision, and policy development translate into improved mental health care, community-engaged practice, and strengthened clinical training environments. As President of ANSA, she is committed to building a diverse and NRF-rated pipeline of nurse scholars, enhancing the global visibility of African research, and shaping policy-relevant knowledge that supports equitable health systems and sustainable futures.
